Victoria Falls

In the world of great waterfalls the grand Victoria Falls of South Africa has truly stolen away the lime light from the last many years. Iguazu Falls

In the world of ostentatious and majestic waterfalls of the world, the great Iguazu Falls have stolen away the glare of publicity. These giant water curtains are cited in the lapse of the grand Iguazu River which is located on the frame of the Brazilian State and the Argentine prefecture. These grand and glorious waterfalls divide up the Iguazu River into two parts: one part is the upper Iguazu and the other part is the lower Iguazu. Huangguoshu, China

Also known as Yellow Fruit Tree Waterfall, Haungguoshu waterfall is one of the largest plunge in Asia. Witnessing this cascading water, its mightiness can be only first thing one can think of. Positioned on Baihe River, Huangguoshu is around 77.8 meters high and about 101 meters wide. Hundred of thousands of people visit this place every year. Besides the Great Wall, this is undoubtedly the best attraction in China.

Angel Falls, Venezuela

The waterfalls transfers 500 cubic meters of waters per second from Vatnajökull glacier down to the sea. You can snap beautiful objects from the two different side of the waterfalls.

Great Falls

Great Falls, also known as Grindstone Falls, has a height of 10m or 33 feet, and a crest width of 5m or 16 feet. It is located on the Grindstone Creek in Waterdown section of Hamilton just off Mill Street, and has year round flow. A viewing platform has been built beside the waterfall as well as a parking lot. This area, known as Smokey Hollow, was once heavily industrial, as the Grindstone Creek was a power source for a sawmill at the base of Great Falls, as well as other mills that appeared over the years. By 1912, however, the mills had all closed, as the water level in Grindstone Creek had gone down and the steam engines that propelled the waterpower were acknowledged to be too dangerous. Today, thanks to a rehabilitation program implemented by Waterdown residents, the locality is a beautiful and well-kept park.

Satan wants you to feel alone

Have you ever felt like the whole world was against you? Feelings are very deceptive and can cause us a lot of worry, fear and anxiety. Most of the time when we feel like the whole world is against us, in reality it is only a few people or a couple of bad happenings.

Now I know those feelings that we are having are real and that the things that are happening are real, but the devil turns our ant hills into mountains for the purpose of bringing fear and worry unto us.

The battle that we are going through is very real to us and the devil takes that to try and destroy your faith in God and to make you feel that no cares for you.

The Psalmist David at one point cried out to God and said, "no man careth for my soul." The devil wants to get us into that helpless situation, feeling that we are all alone and that no one cares about us, so that he can cause us to give up and hurt ourselves or to go down into the pit of depression.

The good news is there is one person who always cares about you and that is Jesus.

A lot of people don't think of Jesus as a person but only as God that just sits on the throne of heaven and watches us running to and fro. Jesus came to this Earth and took on himself a body of flesh just like you and I.

Even though he was God, he became flesh and a person who had feelings just like you and I, so that he would know how we would feel when we think the whole world has rejected us and when people betray us and turn against us.

Jesus felt all these things so now in his role of intercessor at the right hand of God the father, he can come with his Holy Spirit or angelic host and bring unto us the help we need.

The only way that we can receive this help is for us to call out unto Jesus for the comfort, strength and wisdom that we need through our battles. Jesus tells us in the Bible to call unto him and that he will hear and answer us.

The devil doesn't want you to call unto Jesus because he wants you to feel all alone and that there is no hope for you but the answer is Jesus.

He is waiting for the call from you so he can bring unto you the help that you need.

Don't delay, right now call out to Jesus; he is waiting and your answer is waiting to come.

Permission to Cry

 Alone in the wheel of light at the dining room table,  surrounded by an otherwise darkened house, I sat in tears. Finally, I'd succeeded in getting both kids to bed. A relatively new single parent, I had to be both Mommy and Daddy to my two little children. I got them both washed, accompanied by shrieks of delight, crazy running around, laughing and throwing things.

More or less calmed down, they lay in their beds as I gave each the prescribed five minutes of back rubs. Then I took up my guitar and began the nighttime ritual of folk songs, ending with "All the Pretty Little Horses," both kids' favorite. I sang it over and over, gradually reducing the tempo and the volume until they seemed fully engaged in sleep.

A recently divorced man with full custody of his children, I was determined to give them as normal and stable a home life as possible. I put on a happy face for them. I kept their activities as close to how they had always been as I could. This nightly ritual was just as it had always been with the exception that their mother was now missing. There, I had done it again; another night successfully concluded.

I had risen slowly, gingerly, trying to avoid making even the least sound which might start them up again, asking for more songs and more stories. I tiptoed out of their room, closed the door part way, and went downstairs.

Sitting at the dining room table, I slumped in my chair, aware that this was the first time since I came home from work that I'd been able to just sit down. I had cooked and served and encouraged two little ones to eat. I had done the dishes while responding to their many requests for attention. I helped my oldest with her second grade homework and appreciated my youngest's drawings and oohed over his elaborate construction of Lego blocks. The bath, the stories, the back rubs, the singing and now, at long last, a brief moment for myself. The silence was a relief, for the moment.

Then it all crowded in on me: the fatigue, the weight of the responsibility, the worry about bills I wasn't sure I could pay that month. The endless details of running a house. Only a short time before, I'd been married and had a partner to share these chores, these bills, these worries.

And loneliness. I felt as though I were at the bottom of a great sea of loneliness. It all came together and I was at once lost, overwhelmed. Unexpected, convulsive sobs overtook me.I sat there, silently sobbing.

Just then, a pair of little arms went around my middle and a little face peered up at me. I looked down into my five-year-old son's sympathetic face.

I was embarrassed to be seen crying by my son. "I'm sorry, Ethan, I didn't know you were still awake. "I don't know why it is, but so many people apologize when they cry and I was no exception. "I didn't mean to cry. I'm sorry. I'm just a little sad tonight."

 

"It's okay, Daddy. It's okay to cry, you're just a person."

 

I can't express how happy he made me, this little boy, who in the wisdom of innocence, gave me permission to cry.  He seemed to be saying that I didn't have to always be strong, that it was occasionally possible to allow myself to  feel weak and let out my feelings. He crept into my lap and we hugged and talked for a  while, and I took him back up to his bed and tucked him in. Somehow, it was possible for me to get to sleep that night, too.
