Pope Benedict XVI, Church Scandal and Sin

Here are just a few short thoughts on the recent attacks in the media against Pope Benedict XVI. From my point of view our beloved pontiff is doing the same thing every Christian should be doing in their everyday life. He is rooting sin out of the Church like we should be rooting sin out of our lives. When we grow in holiness we become more like Christ. Pope Benedict knows that the Church must be Christ on earth and he is working hard to make the Church sinless like Christ.

The fact that the Pope is being so viciously attacked should be a lesson to us all. When we try to root sin out of our lives then prepare foar attack. The Evil One wants to keep us as far from Christ as possible and when we try to become more like Christ we will be under attack.

We need to pray for sinners who are striving to become more like Christ and we need to pray for our beloved Pontiff, Pope Benedict.

Jesus, pull us closer to your heart. Pull the Church closer to your heart. Tear us away from the grip of sin and hold us close to you. Thank you for such a faithful Pontiff. Jesus keep him closely protected in your heart. Cleanse your Church of sin O’ Lord. Never let us be parted from you. We ask this through the intercession of Mary, Mother of the Church. Amen

Love Jesus. Love the Pope . Love the Church. Grow closer to all three.
